A GPC develops and administers Collaborative Research Actions (CRAs) from a Belmont Forum Call for Proposals and is the body responsible for the practical implementation of the Call. A GPC should understand what kinds of data and digital outputs meet the broader goals of the specific CRA, and provide relevant guidance to researchers as they complete a DDOMP. The resources below focus on understanding data management across different disciplines and how to appropriately identify data management needs for specific projects:
- Organization: DataONE Data Management Skillbuilding Hub
Link: https://dataoneorg.github.io/Education/lessons/03_planning/index.html
Contains: A virtual presentation on data management planning which provides guidance on creating a plan for data management appropriate to a project's goals and planned deliverables.
- Organization: GODAN Capacity Development Working Group
Link: https://www.godan.info/working-groups/capacity-development
Contains: Resources for the Global Open Data for Agriculture and Nutrition (GODAN) Capacity Development Working Group, including webinars and virtual resources for understanding and developing collaborative open data projects and knowledge sharing among capacity development activities.
- Organization: University of Chicago Center for Data Science and Public Policy
Link: https://dsapp.uchicago.edu/home/resources/data-science-project-scoping-guide/
Contains: A Data Science Project Scoping Guide, aimed at helping research designers (such as GPCs) understand what data is needed for a project, and how to appropriately manage data to meet project goals.
